Intelligent Switchroom Management System (ISMS)

System Overview

Developed by Sinotech E & M Ltd, the ISMS is an IoT-enabled platform designed to upgrade traditional electrical panels into intelligent monitoring systems. It provides 24/7 real-time tracking of switchroom assets to ensure reliable power distribution, enhance operational efficiency, and prevent equipment failure.

Key System Functions

The system integrates various advanced sensing technologies to provide a comprehensive management solution:

  • RFID-Based Temperature Monitoring: Uses passive RFID sensors that require no batteries or external power. They are heat-resistant, anti-metal, and enable continuous real-time monitoring of critical contact points.

  • Comprehensive Power Data Logging: Continuously tracks electrical parameters including voltage, current, power factor, frequency, and harmonics (THDV/THDI). It stores historical data for trend analysis and load optimization.
  • Environmental & Air Quality Monitoring: Real-time tracking of temperature, humidity, dew point, and air quality (PM2.5, PM10, PM1) to protect equipment from harsh conditions.
  • Safety & Hazard Detection:

    • Water Leakage: Dual-channel area sensors for early warning of floods.

    • Vibration Detection: X, Y, and Z-axis monitoring to detect abnormal mechanical stress or movement.

    • Motion & Occupancy: 360∘ detection to monitor personnel entry and switchroom occupancy.

    • Noise Monitoring: Industrial-grade detection (30–130dB) to identify unusual operating sounds.

  • Instant Alert Functionality: When a sensor triggers an alarm (e.g., temperature exceeds a preset threshold), the system immediately sends email alerts and displays visual warnings on the management interface.

Management Interface & Display

The system features a multi-tabbed dashboard for intuitive asset management:

  • Energy Dashboard: Displays real-time summaries of active, reactive, and apparent power, alongside demand trends and voltage/current levels for individual circuits

  • Temperature Dashboard: Visualizes the thermal status of equipment using a color-coded system:

  • Layout View: Provides a floor plan or single-line diagram overlay showing the physical location of sensors and their real-time status (e.g., "Leak" status or specific temperature values).

  • Log Page: A detailed repository of all historical data, alerts, and system events used for data-driven predictive maintenance.

  • Multi-Protocol Connectivity: Supports LoRa, RS485, WiFi, 4G, and Satellite connections to ensure data integrity across different environments.

  • Universal Compatibility: Features a unified data model that allows integration with multi-vendor devices.
